The thyroid gland is a butterfly-shaped organ located in the base of your neck. You can help thyroid function by improving lymph flow through the organ. Thyroiditis is a general term that refers to “inflammation of the thyroid gland.” When the lymphatic system can no longer efficiently clean the thyroid it becomes inflamed which limits its ability to function. Many people have hypothyroid or hyperthyroid and don’t consider helping thyroid function by improving lymph flow and detoxification by eating a more alkaline diet, basic supplements like magnesium, systemic enzymes and doing self-lymphatic drainage or receiving a lymphatic drainage session.
